Traditional Implants

If missing teeth hinder your personal and professional life and removable dentures don't appeal to you, consider dental implants. Designed to imitate strong, natural teeth, dental implants offer solid, esthetic replacements. A titanium post is anchored in to your jaw to replace your tooth root. Once your mouth heals and bone fuses to the biocompatible implant post, Dr. Martin will permanently affix an attractive crown or permanent bridge.

Dental implants give patients the freedom and security they crave. The hassles of sticky creams, embarrassing odors, and food restrictions disappear with dental implants. Embrace a healthy, active lifestyle with these amazing restorations.

Numerous studies have shown implants to be more resistant to dental disease than natural teeth. Thirty years of studies have shown that crowns supported by implants have fewer problems than crowns placed on a natural tooth. This forces dentists and patients to reevaluate traditional thinking about heroic efforts to save badly broken-down or compromised teeth.

If your smile is missing teeth, call Dr. Martin and schedule a consultation. Our convenient North Dallas dental office serves patients from Addison, Richardson, Carrollton, and Plano. You can read more about dental implants in our patient library.

Implant-Retained Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and fixed bridges are connected to one or more dental implants to replace a single tooth or up to four consecutive teeth. A single tooth or two consecutive teeth are typically replaced with one crown or two connected crowns attached to one dental implant post. Three or four consecutive teeth can be replaced by a row of attached dental crowns anchored at either end by a dental implant post. In some cases of more extensive tooth loss, we may recommend a series of crowns and bridges to restore the smile with the most natural look and feel.

Implant-Retained Prosthetics

Patients with extensive tooth loss will likely require restoration using an implant-retained partial or full denture. Partials fill the gaps in patients’ smiles like a puzzle piece, and they are crafted by combining a series of replacement teeth with a gum-colored base shaped to fit between healthy teeth. We place the minimum number of implant posts to provide adequate stability while keeping the surgical procedure minimally invasive. Full dentures replace entire rows of lost teeth, and are typically held in place with between four and six dental implant posts.
